35 weeks, 2 days!

We made it to 35 weeks and we're still hanging in there! 35 weeks is a big milestone because if they had been born before 35 they automatically have to go to the NICU. Now, it just depends on how well they are doing when they arrive.

Since we've been here, they've been monitoring my blood pressure every 4 hours. It had been holding steady up until yesterday evening when we got two high readings. So, we will be finding out soon if today will be their birthday! (That doesn't even feel real to type that!)

Obviously, the longer I stay pregnant, the better for the babies. But, I have to admit that I'm going a little bit crazy after being in the hospital for a week now!

I'll post later with another update once we find out more...and I'll try to get a picture in there too. :)

It's Time to Play Catch Up!

I know, I know...I'm a huge slacker when it comes to the blog. And honestly, I don't even have a good excuse. :)

So, let's get caught up, shall we?

Last time I posted I was 21 weeks I think. Currently, I'm 34 weeks and 4 days and the babies are doing great!

I, on the other hand, am a little bit of a different story...

We had our regular weekly appointment on Wednesday of this week. My blood pressure was up a little bit, but the nurse said not to worry and that she would check it again before I left. So, we had our ultrasound and then the doctor came in a dropped the bomb. I had protein in my urine and that combined with the higher blood pressure had won me a trip to the hospital to be monitored for preeclampsia. I checked in on Wednesday around lunch and we found out this morning that, unfortunately, I definitely have it. Which means I am a permanent resident here until they decide it's time for the babies to be born.

We're hoping to get at least another week, but we'll just be taking it day by day. I promise to be better about updating! Especially since I really have nothing else to do now that I'm spending my days in a hospital bed. :)

21 weeks!

21 weeks!
(sorry for the bad cell phone pic!)

How far along? 21 weeks, 2 days

How big are babies? PB & J are about 10.5 inches long and are weighing in at about 1 lb. each

Total weight gain/loss: Up 16 lbs or so...depends on what time of day I weigh. I like to go with the "first thing in the morning" weight! I mean, that's the most accurate, right??

Maternity clothes? Of course. And I'm really ready for some fall clothes and more importantly fall weather!

Movement: Lots of movement...and I'm starting to be able to see it from the outside which is super weird.

Waist Diameter: I should just take this category off because I can't seem to get around to doing this.

Food cravings: Nothing in particular right now.

Gender: Boy and Girl!
Labor Signs: None!

Belly Button in or out? Still in...

What I miss: Good sleep. Between waking up to go to the bathroom and the random pains that come with my body stretching so quickly, I feel like I do a lot of tossing and turning.

What I am looking forward to: Jason feeling the babies move. They are being shy when he puts his hand on my belly but I know pretty soon they'll be moving so much they he wont be able to miss it.

Milestones: Making it past the half way point!

What I'm Craving

So, among all the pregnancy cravings that come and go, there is one thing that tops my list...

I'm desperately craving FALL weather.

How cute are these painted pumpkins?! I definitely plan on having a pumpkin painting party this year!

So ready for fall clothes! Even though mine will be a little bit larger than usual this year. :)

It's a...

I know, I know...I've totally left you hanging on the sex of our babies! I'm a huge slacker and still haven't downloaded the pictures from the Gender Reveal party yet. So, instead of making y'all wait any longer...I figured I would go ahead and tell you!

So, going in to the ultrasound, both Jason and I thought we were having a boy and a girl. And based on previous ultrasounds, our guess was that Baby A was a girl and Baby B was a boy.

Here's what we found out about Baby A...

The ultrasound tech spent a few minutes getting a few pictures of sweet Baby A, while Jason and I waited in suspense to find out what Baby B was. And at this point, we were both thinking that Baby A was also going to be a boy since that what we had been thinking all along.

Finally, we moved on to Baby B and this is what we found out...

So, come December, our house will be filled with lots of PINK and BLUE! We are SUPER excited!!

17 weeks!

Your Baby: Week 17

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

How far along? 17 weeks, 4 days

How big are babies? PB & J are about 5 inches long

Total weight gain/loss: Up 6 lbs. Not too bad yet. :)

Maternity clothes? Oh yes. There is no way I can wear my regular pants/shorts anymore. I have some dresses that still work but my shirts are getting too short now. So, maternity clothes from here on out.

Best moment this week: Feeling the babies move!

Movement: I'm feeling some little kicks from both of them every now and then. Nothing too strong yet.

Waist Diameter: Still haven't done this...I'm a slacker.

Food cravings: My most recent craving has been orange juice.

Gender: We know what they are! But I'm going to make you wait until the next post since it will be all about our gender reveal party and I don't want to ruin the surprise! Any guesses?? (Except for those of you who already know.)

Labor Signs: Still none! Thank goodness!

Belly Button in or out? Still in...but much more shallow now. :)

What I miss: Good sleep. Between waking up to go to the bathroom and the random pains that come with my body stretching so quickly, I feel like I do a lot of tossing and turning.

What I am looking forward to: Starting on the nursery!

Milestones: Feeling the babies move, finding out what they are, and picking out fabric for the nursery!

Realization of the week: I'm almost half way! This pregnancy is going by a little quicker than I thought it would.
